The East Aurora Fire Department is able to protect it's residents by training weekly, however not only should firefighters physically train, they should mentally train and be prepared to perform on scene duties as requested.
As such any East Aurora firefighter may be requested by an officer to perform a duty that is in the East Aurora Standard Operating Guide (SOG), therefore it is the requirement of each firefighter to familiarize him or herself with the EAFD SOG's.
To have access to more information you need to be a member and so we would also like to extend the invitation to join our fire department, giving you the opportunity to serve your family, friends, and neighbors.
Educational Opportunity
Any member interseted in attending a community college can take advantage of the FASNY HELP.
FASNY (Firemen's Association of the State of New York) www.fasny.com/resources/fasny-help/ offers assistance through FASNY HELP, a Higher Education Learning Plan.
The program provides tuition reimbursement to volunteer firefighters, allowing them to attain up to eighty (80) credit hours from a New York State chartered community college.
Under FASNY HELP, volunteer firefighters will be eligible to have 100% of their tuition reimbursed in exchange for maintaining high grades and "active" membership.
There is no restriction on the type of academic course(s) the FASNY HELP student-volunteer can pursue.
